Paws N Claws is an eyewear company based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania -- and our unique aspect is that we give back a portion of proceeds to animal charity and also donate to animal shelters. Our passion for animals shines through in our array of eyewear and accessories designs, and is apparent in our charitable contributions to the ASPCA, which have totaled over $60,000 since the brand’s creation in 2011 with the support of our distributor and licensing partner Windsor Eyes. Partnering with charitable animal organizations raises awareness and revenue for animal welfare programs and gives consumers the opportunity to help animals in need.

 

Our initiative to be socially-conscious in our business model by giving back to the community is what sets us apart from other fashionable eyewear brands because we consider ourselves ‘Eyewear for Animal Lovers.’ This mission brings us to the forefront of the current “giving-back fashion” trend. For us, it’s a lifestyle — and not just a buzzword. Previously, Paws N Claws Eyewear has raised funds and awareness for animals in need by donating 5% of the purchase price of our unique eyewear, sunglasses, and accessories that benefited the ASPCA. Currently, we are searching for a new charitable organization that benefits animals to donate too.

 

There are over 183 million pet owners and animal-lovers in the US. Our fashionable eyewear is created with the animal-lover in mind. Stylish frames are embellished with subtle paw prints, bones, and animal prints - unlike any other brand currently on the market. The Paws N Claws Eyewear brand reaches not only dog lovers, cat ladies, and everything in-between, but it also touches the hearts of animal advocates, and simultaneously intrigues customers who are looking for fashionable eyewear and sunglasses at an affordable price. They also appeal to someone who is maybe seeking something a little different from the norm. Our eyeglass frames and sunglasses bring a new vision to those who want to look good and do good at the same time.

 

Brand creator, Phyllis Shapiro explains, “I love Paws N Claw Eyewear because animals have always been near and dear to my heart. Paws N Claws gives back to animals in need by donating a percentage of the purchase price to animal charities. People that are unable to support their love for animals in other ways are able to donate through purchasing a pair of Paws N Claws Eyewear frames or sunglasses. Our eyewear line is fashionable so customers don’t have to sacrifice looking good for doing good. And isn’t ‘Wearing and Caring’ what it’s all about?” (Wearing and Caring is our slogan and hashtag for our Boutique Eyewear Line).

 

Paws N Claws Eyewear has many repeat customers, who make it a point to reach out to our company and let us know how much they love what we do and are happy to be a part of saving animals. We receive many emails and notes in the mail from customers explaining their excitement about wearing Paws N Claws Eyewear. They also like to show us photos and tell us about their pets!

 

CEO Sam Shapiro states, “I and my wife, Phyllis, are active animal lovers and activists. The creation of Paws N Claws Eyewear in 2011, seemed like a natural progression in our already established eyewear business, Eye Deals Eyewear. We were able to give back to animals in a way than ever thought possible. Paws N Claws Eyewear has now expanded into accessories and a Boutique Eyewear line extension off of our Original Eyewear line. In July 2015, Paws N Claws Eyewear and our partners presented the ASPCA with a donation of over $11,000. Our philanthropic brand has come a long way from it’s first donation of $500.”

In 2018, Paws N Claws Eyewear expanded our Boutique line by including Super Lite frame models. We will continue to search for pet related company partnerships offering accessories to add to our product line, supporting the animal charities, hosting fun social media contests with giveaways, and working with magazines in the pet industry. To date we have been featured in many magazines to help get our word across including, but not limited to; Woman’s Day, Dogster, Catster, Modern Dog, and Fido Friendly.

 

Lately, the focus has shifted more towards adding gifts and accessories for pet-owners of all ages — and we couldn’t be more excited to announce what all we’ve got going on. While eyewear is still our cornerstone, we are happy to be expanding our brand and product line to cater to the other shopping needs of our fellow animal-loving friends.

 

The number one reason customers are attracted to our brand is because they are animal lovers. As we have learned, shoppers are more likely to purchase a product if it is tied to a cause. Not only does this business motto support animals in need, but it also increases your business' sales!
